Haunting story by ~Aangster1:iconAangster1:

I stood across from Laura with my arms folded. I couldn't believe she would have done something like this. She said she would stay in the house at all times. What is wrong with her?
"I told you to stay in the house...and you disobeyed."
"You're not my father. If anything, you shouldn't have left me all alone." Laura said  looking out the window.
" I had some errands to run. I trusted you. There is something out there!"
"I was safe...the creature wouldn't dare come fifteen feet to the house."
I frowned and gave her a glance.
The creature, was a mystery to everyone in the city. People disappearing left and right. I had wondered if there was anything to stop it. My mind was racing.
" That creature has unmistakable powers...if something were to happen to you, I would never forgive myself." I promised her.
"There is no creature...if there was how come it never showed itself?"
  "Protection."
Laura turned towards me and sighed. She knew that I was right, if there was a  demon.
"What will be come of us if we are next?" I murmured. Pondering this, I thought about the next encounter of the beast. Its white fangs glowing in the mist and its narrow eyes staring at its new victim. I shivered.
"Who ever is next," Laura suggested,"will not be us."
"How can you be so sure?"
" I just know."  Laura had been studying Lycanthropia, werewolves. She had learned werewolves were common there in London. Werewolves were and still are extremely dangerous. Many sightings of the beasts were in cemeteries, where they were seen creeping among the graves. I wondered if such things existed, but compared to everyone else, they were just myths.
" So what? You think a werewolf could cause this?" I questioned.
"It's possible...with what I have learned, werewolves are responsible with a lot of deaths in these parts."
I, in truth, never believed her. No howls were heard around our neighborhood. Even if they were, people would think they were just wolves.
" So you don't believe me?"
"No, Laura. All of this so-called beasts busniess you call werewolves is nonsense. People around here just have lost their minds." I walked to the fridge and pulled out a soda.
"My friends would believe me." Said Laura.
"Your friends would believe you if you said there was an oversized rat in their basement."

It began to get dark and the moon turned full. A shadow arose from the trees and howled. The layered call was heard all around. The beast had awoken.
